Every week residents of select local drug and alcohol treatment centers spend a day with the horses at Wind Horse Crossing. This experience allows the participants to reconnect with the parts of themselves that were lost or damaged during the course of their addiction.
Individual psychotherapy – Individual sessions can be arranged for individuals currently in the care of other professionals. This experience can be a profound adjunct to traditional psychotherapy.
Horses offer a different view of leadership in that they lead without dominance. Their ability to be aware of each herd member, to provide safety for the herd and to be able to provide direction teaches an innovative approach to leadership. Interactions with a horse allows participants to learn their strengths and challenges as leaders.
Families wishing to learn more about their own interactions can learn from horses. Horse herds are families and can teach other families how to get along.
